Three meetings of the European Council will be held during the Lions European Forum.

EUROPEAN COUNCIL I – PRESENTATION OF RESOLUTIONS

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2024

According to the Rules of Procedure of the Europa Forum, the European Council is the body responsible for training and monitoring the policy of the Forum.

It is composed of one voting delegate for each Member. The Lions Organization of any country or state belonging to the Constitutional Area of Europe may become a member of the Europa Forum, provided that its accession has been approved by the European Council.

The agenda for Board meetings will be determined by the President of the Forum, based on draft resolutions received from Members and the February meeting of the Supervisory Commitee.

Draft resolutions must be sent in English to the Chair of the Forum, with a copy for the Archivist and Advisor, by 15 June.

The President of the Forum will publish these same drati resolutions on the Web portal, with an email notice to Members by 31 July at the latest, in order to properly prepare them for discussion and voting at the European Council.

The European Council meeting is open to all Lions. However, only one duly appointed delegate per member will be allowed to vote. The Council will be chaired by the President of the Forum, assisted by the Vice-President, the Secretary of the Forum and the C&A.

EUROPEAN COUNCIL – DISCUSSIONS

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2024

The purpose of this meeting is to hold informal hearings and open discussions in order to prepare the decisions to be taken the following day.

Resolutions can be modified or withdrawn and additional information can be requested. However, no new resolution can be moved at this time.

The European Council meeting is open to all Lions.

The meeting is chaired by the Chair of the Forum, assisted by the Vice-Chair, the Secretary of the Forum and the C&A

EUROPEAN COUNCIL II – VOTE ON RESOLUTIONS

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2024

While the informal hearings and open discussions took place the day before, this meeting should focus on the voting of resolutions and elections on the agenda. Unless new relevant information has been revealed in the meantime, discussions are not timely.

No new resolution can be moved at this time.

In addition to the agenda, following a seminar, a seminar chair may submit a proposal, no later than 6 pm the day before, and request a consultative vote. No more than 3 minutes are allowed for the presentation of such a proposal.

The final agenda will be available on this page after the Board Discussion meeting.

This meeting will take place in the main auditorium and is open to all Lions. However, only one duly appointed delegate per member will be allowed to speak and vote.

The meeting shall be chaired by the Chair of the Forum, assisted by the Vice-Chair, the Secretary of the Forum and the C&A.

Article V of the Rules of Procedure shall apply.
