2nd stay of the summer at VPA Gujan-Mestras
This stay concerns the children of Gironde, 110 children from disadvantaged families, from various homes, young people from Restos du coeur and various associations without forgetting the majority from the Lions Clubs of Gironde.
They took advantage of the same activities as those of the previous stay: sailing at Lake Cazaux, Coccinelle amusement parks, tree climbing, swimming, games in the forest and various big games in the center, but with new activities because the center VPA is now approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as a LEARNING COLOMBIE, which means that it can offer new objectives with 5 themes:
1) Physical and sporting activities, broadcast of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, awareness of various sports, awareness of Paralympic sports
2) Sustainable development implementation of various fun games to raise awareness, learning about selective sorting during meals, collecting waste on the beach, raising awareness of food and material waste.
3) Discovery of the Arcachon basin, visit to the Oyster museum at the port of Gujan-Mestras awareness of oyster culture with visit to an oyster farm
4) Food and health, implementation of cooking activities, sexuality and consent with AS, sports awakening to raise children’s awareness of the importance of sport
5) Citizenship and civic life: Rules of life and behavior both at the center and in everyday life
It should be added that we had a visit from the YECs group from Camp du Périgord Noir on an outing to the Arcachon Bay. They participated with our children in a paddle initiation and a joint lunch.
Now for the 3rd stay for children from Paris and Ile de France Est from August 9 to 22.
