The south-eastern District covers 5 departments, Alpes de Haute Provence, Bouches du Rhône, Gard, Hautes Alpes and Vaucluse. 1340 members divided into 12 zones and 69 clubs.
Our culinary and gourmet specialties: the essential Bouillabaisse, rock fish soup, Provencal suppions, Gardianne de Taureau, cod brandade, tapenade, tourtons, génep… a great wealth of local products in each part of our area.
Our wines: The excellent wines of Cassis, Châteauneuf du Pape… whose reputation is well established (to be consumed in moderation), the pastis of Marseille…
The main actions: All the actions of our clubs are carried out in part around the main axes of Lions International.
With our Vision Bus, all clubs organize many vision tests for the benefit of the population, an action also focused on prevention and the vision of young children in schools. Inter-club and zone actions, with rose sales, chef soups, gastronomy events, “night” runs, diabetes screenings, etc.
On the cultural side, concerts, art fairs, painting exhibitions, book fairs, conferences, and of course UDELM (Lions Summer Music University, in the South of France, in July/August)…
Concerning Environment, we actively participated in tree plantings (#lionsgogreen) and we are mobilizing around “Move for the planet”, for the first time in France.
It is impossible to list so many actions. They all deserve our attention. The clubs are full of ideas and enthusiasm to help local populations and serve people in need, but also at the national level, with the Food Bank and the Telethon among others, and of course at the international level alongside our International Foundation, LCIF.
We are proud of our District 103 South-East and proud to be LIONS
